Audition Video Guidelines

• The 2027 TMEA Middle School Choir Honor Ensemble chair placement auditions for all students will take place virtually using the Snap Audition platform.
• No late submissions will be accepted.
• Directors will submit their students' audition videos. Submissions received from students will not be accepted.
• Auditioning students must be visible (face and hands) throughout the video recording. Failure to comply with this could result in a students audition being disqualified.
• Choral Students should record their audition in the following order:
  1. Scale
  2. Etude
• Use the AUDITION TRACK to record the student audition. The track must be clearly audible in the recording and will provide the correct starting pitch for each section.
• The student should sing the audition a cappella, using only the starting pitches provided on the audition track. No additional musical assistance should be used.
  • Two devices may be needed: one to play the audition track and one to record.
• Submit one continuous video recording into the Snap Audition Platform.
• Do not electronically enhance or alter the recording. Any evidence of enhancement or manipulation will result in disqualification.
• No identifiable language in the audition video. Do not state the student’s name, director’s name, school name, or other identifying information.
• .MP4 is the only accepted file type with a max file size of 2gb
• The director must submit one video of each auditioning student; including all audition components.
• Common free programs used to edit videos include: Windows Media Editor, Canva, iMovie, and Vimeo Create.
