All-State 2nd Tier Audition Instructions

Using the instructions found here (Audition Instructions) and the audition track found here (Audition Tracks), please record and upload your All-State audition.

Remember: Students should not submit their audition. After you upload your video, please Transfer ownership to your Director.

For assistance with your uploads, please contact your school's choir director.

Audio enhancement is not allowed and will result in disqualification.

Before You Begin, make sure you are in a quiet location and that your microphone is working properly.

The following procedures must be followed

• Your face and body must be visible in the video. Judges will not be able to see the video, but it can be used to verify student identity if needed.
• An external speaker should be used to play the tracks for the audition. The use of headphones to play the track then edit the instrumental and vocal tracks together is not permitted.
• A standard smartphone is acceptable for video recording, but other devices can be used as well.
• Students are allowed to record with a microphone. However, the microphone should not add any audio enhancing effects (including reverb, autotune, etc.) to the sound.
• No other person should influence the student’s audition in any way (ex. Conducting in front of the student, counting them in, singing with the student.)
  • This includes (but is not limited to) directors, voice instructors, parents, friends, etc.
• The video must be continuous. You can do as many attempts as you want, but you must submit one continuous video for your audition.
  • Ex. You can’t use Take #2 of Song #1 and Take #6 of Song #2, etc.
